Definition: The science of identifying, locating, preserving and gathering of digital information obtained from a computer system. CASE RESEARCH In order to provide a thorough analysis, Midwest Data Group, LLC will begin by examining the details of the case along with a client interview. As in any investigation, the most crucial piece of evidence may be overlooked, or even considered meaningless if the examiner does not perform the required research prior to the analysis. In an effort to save time and costs, we will work with the attorney and/or client to ensure we are thoroughly familiar with the facts of the case before beginning the analysis portion. ANALYSIS During the analysis portion, strict attention is paid to the guidelines established by the International Association of Computer Investigation Specialist (IACIS). Midwest Data Group, LLC uses the latest technology and resources available while performing analysis, which allows us to provide the most cost-effective analysis services available to date. We are committed to enhancing and using state-of-the-art equipment in order to provide our clients with the analysis they need using the fastest equipment available. REPORT OF FINDINGS After the analysis portion of the case is completed, the examiner assigned to the case will submit a Report of Findings (ROF) to the attorney and/or client. This report will detail the equipment and/or software used to perform the analysis, the examiners credentials and the findings. The examiner’s “findings” will include specific details, occurrences and supporting exhibits. |
